As an interdisciplinary artist, I use different forms of mixed media. My work presents femininity through the lenses of self-portraiture and installation using shades of pink, painting, photography, and found textiles. I often use political themes within my work.
Pink is the socially recognizable symbol of femininity and women. I use pink to reclaim the color as more than the original soft gentle meaning. The color does not define women but can symbolize strength and femininity.
My artwork aims to further the ongoing discourse within the feminist movement. My objective is to provoke discussions regarding the complexity of gender identity and question traditional feminist narratives while acknowledging that womanhood is not a one-size-fits-all experience. My artistic work is an exploration of my own identity and a response to the complex field of feminism.
